Clash of Arms Quick-Dox ------------------------- Objective: Conquer the world through the use of your armies. You gain strength (extra armies) by conquering new cities. One game turn lasts one day. Every three game turns, you will receive new armies equal to the number of cities you own. This game requires you to call frequently and participate often. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Key for Symbols on the Map: *** IMPORTANT! *** ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- blank - A blank space represents empty land. # - Mountain. Armies may not pass over the mountains. : - Water. Armies may only cross water when in a boat. = - Deep Water. This treacherous area of sea is impassable by boat. + - Empty Boat. Initially, there are various empty boats scattered across the map, waiting for you to inhabit them. You may also create a boat if necessary, which is described later. a to f - Lowercase letters A through F represent armies which are either on land or in a boat. The character identifies who the army belongs to; e.g., character "a" is one of player A`s armies, character "b" is one of player B`s armies, and so on. There may only be 9 armies per square. * - Unoccupied city, belonging to no one. A to F - Capital letters A through F represent cities which have been occupied. For example, "A" represents a city which belongs to player A. There may or may not be armies in the city. ============================================================================== Joining: Type "J" to Join a game. When a total of 6 users have joined, you will receive mail notifying you to begin. Moving on the Map: Use the following keys to move one square. QWE 789 A D or 4 6 if you have a numeric keypad. ZXC 123 Playing: Select "P" from the main menu. You will be asked if you wish to Split Armies. This option is used if you have up to 9 armies in one square. If you wish to break this army into smaller units, say an army of size 4 and another of size 5, then answer "Y". Clash of Arms will ask you to select the army you wish to split, the adjacent square you wish to split to, and how many armies you wish to split. Moving: Use the movement keys outlined above to move your armies. You may only move 3 squares per turn. To capture cities, attack other armies, or enter boats, simply move on top of that item. You may use the < and > keys to select which army you would like to move. Normally, Clash of Arms picks the army for you from top to bottom and left to right on the map. Searching: While moving your armies, type "S". QWE 789 Use the A D or 4 6 cluster of keys to explore one square away. ZXC 123 Use the I cluster of keys to jump around on the map. J K M Merging: At the end of the turn, you will be asked if you wish to merge armies together. Use this option if you have two adjacent armies which you want to consolidate into one army. Clash of Arms will ask you to select a first army, and then an adjacent second army, and will merge the first army into the second army. Other Features: Creating Boats: Split an army of 9 into an adjacent square of water. Diplomacy : Send messages to others. Select "D" from the main menu. Winning the game: When you are the only player left on the board, you have won the game.
